Handball fans in Zabrze will immediately recognize this name – Alexander Tatarintsev is back! The 208 cm tall left back will stay in Zabrze at least for the next 18 months, until the end of the 2017/2018 season.
The 27-year-old Russian player had already played for Zabrze in seasons 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. Later he was transfered to a Swedish club, IFK Kristianstad. He entered the team with a bang – in the fourth friendly game of the summer training season, he scored seven goals against FC Porto (though in the end IFK Kristianstad lost 26-23). His career did not, however, put an end to his relationship with Polish handball. On October 1st, his team IFK Kristianstad fought against Vive Tauron Kielce in the Champions League group stage. Alex scored three goals, but the game ended with a humiliating defeat for his team (38-28).
Unfortunately, Alex was not always the IFK coach’s first choice, therefore he got permission to find a new club. “He wanted to come back and we needed him!” said NMC Górnik Zabrze president Bogdan Kmiecik.
