Handball fans in Piotrków are counting down the hours to the game against the Poland Champion, winner of European Cup and one of the great prize-winning clubs in Poland, Vive Tauron Kielce. Coaches and players of the new PGNiG Superleague team are aware of what their opponent is capable of. However, they will do their best to rise to the occasion.
“Naturally, we know who is coming. It is a great promotional opportunity for handball and the boys do not need any special motivation for this game. A couple of Vive players will come straight from the World Championship in France. They will be in the rhythm and I wouldn’t count on their exhaustion,” says coach Zbigniew Markuszewski.
Dmytro Zinchuk knows the taste of victory over Vive Kielce – the team lost in Piotrków against Focus Park Kiper, as the local team used to be called. “Piotrkowianin was different then, so was Vive. Now, we’re fighting for something completely different. We would like to invite all handball fans to watch the game, as I think it will be really dramatic”, says Zinchuk, both a player and a coach in Piotrkowianin.
“To me, it’s a game like any other. It doesn’t matter if it’s Vive or any other team. You have to go on court and fight. I would like to cordially invite all fans to see this game”, added Łukasz Achruk, for whom the match against Poland champions will be the official comeback to the Superleague after a few years spent in Montenegro.
The Piotrkowianin – Vive Tauron Kielce game will take place on Thursday, February 2, at 6:00 PM in Hala Relax in Piotrków. Watch it on Canal+ Sport from 6:15 PM!
